Aaron Jagdfeld - Jewel Bait (short film/spec ad)
Once in a while my friend Aaron Jagdfeld text me about his ideas and videos he wants to work on, I'm always game for that because I get to create something from scratch with full creative freedom.
This short film /spec ad started out as a small idea of showing off jigs, and more specifically, one of Aaron's sponsors - Jewel Bait.
Selling product is boring to me, so I had to figure out a way to make the video more valuable to the viewer. We came up with a concept that, hopefully, could be interpreted as inspirational and relatable.
It took us a couple of trips to make it work. Majority of the used shots came from the second day because we didn't really have a plan in the beginning.
The edit seemed pretty simple, but spending some time on sound design helped to bring everything together. I chose not to go overboard with color grading. I'm still not good at it, but I did enough to bring out the natural look that was captured in camera.
Hope you enjoyed this one!

I love riding my bike, and I love fishing. Why not combine them together for a cool little adventure?! I fished a little river and biked around to cover some water. It turned out a pretty fun day outdoors. I highly recommend you do the same if you have the opportunity! Instagram: @bogdankomedia

    I've never been out there with such calm and dark conditions. Also when I have been there the emergent vegetation is everywhere making it difficult to throw top waters. That is unless you are in the ultra shallows or out around the stumps. You did really well.

    • @KayakOutbreak
      @KayakOutbreak 6 днів тому

      Yeah, it was really early in the morning and cloudy. Perfect conditions for top water. I was able to stand up and see gaps in the vegetation. A little more thicker and you’d just have to go with a weedless frog. Wouldn’t catch that many fish since they were on the smaller size, but still would work! Thank you!

    4 mph seems a little slow, but maybe I’m expecting too much. Most everything else about the Town & Country kayak sounds very appealing. I’ll be on the lookout to see one that is fully loaded to fish in person. Great video and thank you for posting.

    • @Khaymen223
      @Khaymen223 Рік тому

      Recreationally, 4mph is ok. But for kayak tournaments that allow motors, 4mph is horrible. Fishermen using torqueedos are easily hitting 6 mph. When getting across the lake is time sensitive, 4 mph vs 6-8 isn't good. Also racing back to the dock when a storm bearing down, 4 mph is very slow

    • @KayakOutbreak
      @KayakOutbreak Рік тому

      I’m happy with 4mph, even though you only get that in calm waters. Back in the day I was pedaling my pedal kayak at 2.5-3.5mph, so I’m not the one to complain. The good thing is, you got options these days!

    the only 2 complaints i have with this kayak.. are... cammo/color selection... and the rudder system which is plastic and seems to struggle with an heavier current... this is an awesome package overall... but quite high on the price. it is well made. The placement of the motor is great... the more sea deck is mo betta.. i am tall and at 230 pounds/i have to use an bigger yak.. it is perfect for saltwater/inshore/bay fishing... which i love... id like to see an saltwater version of the minn kota supplied... perhaps an ulterra... with ALL the bells and whistles.. this yak is 1 step above the HOBIES at this time... but, changes will be made to compete for 1st place... im not an fan of the BIXBY motor..

    My buddy has the PA14 with an Xi3 motor. I have the Autopilot 136. For somebody like me who likes the trolling motor / fish finder interactivity... it's Really a bummer that there's no ipilot link on the Autopilot 136. But that's expensive tech I suppose. I'm likely going with the PA14 with a saltwater ready trolling motor (cut down) that links with my chartplotter.. Or maybe there's a way (or there will become a way) to retrofit a motor with ipilot link to a chartplotter. That would be the Cats meow!

      Extra deck space is a one of the biggest differences. If you have the space for it and the length doesn't bother you, then I don't see any other reasons to choose 120. Weight difference is minimal. I do believe 136 is tiny bit quicker. Both will be super maneuverable. Maybe if you are roof topping, then 120 would be a bit easier.
